RAVE REMIX

The Second generation of RAVE

SPI’s award-winning seatback system that made the competition start to sweat

RAVE REMIX was SPI’s first daring step away from RAVE Classic, their first but highly cookie-cutter software and interface model. For over five years and across more than 40 airlines, RAVE REMIX was a major disruptor in the customizable IFE industry and managed to cut an airline’s entry into service time by 50%.

From hardware to software, front-end interface to back-end performance, it has become known for its bulletproof reliability and brandability, feeling unique to each airline while benefiting from a single baseline.

I started at SPI when RAVE REMIX was just taking off and helped guide more than 20 airlines not only through their branding process, but also in the creation of new features and workflows for the overall product.

Much of my time and energy was spent auditing what already existed and looking for ways to improve, not only from a design perspective, but also the ways in which assets were handled internally by the Passenger Experience team and ingested by our software department.
